By Car

About 90 minutes from Misato I.C.! Turn off at Mito-Oarai I.C., and look for the Sunflower signboard.

From Tokyo, the terminal is an easy drive via the Joban Expressway or Higashi-Kanto Expressway.
From the Joban Expressway, exit at the Mito-Oarai I.C., and follow National Route 51. When the road splits into Route 51 and Prefectural Route 2 Mito-Kamata-Swara Route at the Shiozaki intersection, continue on Route 51.
From the Higashi-Kanto Expressway, exit at the Itako I.C., and follow Route toward Oarai.

  • For passengers arriving on motorcycles, go to the "Boarding Vehicle Parking Space" to park. For passengers arriving on bicycles, go to the terminal and check with the staff.
  • Parking spaces for disabled persons are available. Please park in one of the designated spaces and staff will guide you to the boarding parking areas after boarding procedures.
  • The boarding parking spaces for the Evening Ferry and Night Ferry may be changed without prior notice.

By Bus

Another option is the Expressway Bus from the Tokyo Station Yaesu-minami Exit to Mito Station. From Mito Station, take the Kashima Rinkai Tetsudo railway or the Ibaraki route bus.

By Train

It takes about 110 minutes on the Hitachi from central Tokyo to Oarai.

Depart from Shinagawa Station, change to the Kashima Rinkai Railway at Mito Station on the Joban Line. The trip from Shinagawa to Mito takes about 83 minutes by the Hitachi limited express train Hitachi, and about 15 minutes from Mito to Oarai. There is a convenient Oarai-machi shuttle bus "Kaiyu-go" (Oarai Resort Outlet Route) from Oarai Station. It is about a 5-minute taxi ride or a 20-30 minute walk.
